Project Objectives

The main objective of this project is to design and implement a modular web-based honeypot framework that enables the simulation, monitoring, and analysis of malicious activities targeting web applications.

The framework aims to provide a structured environment for capturing attack data and improving cybersecurity research and threat analysis processes.

Sub-objectives

  1. To analyze the limitations of traditional monitoring and intrusion detection systems in understanding attacker behavior and web-based exploitation techniques.

  2. To develop a modular honeypot framework capable of simulating vulnerable web application environments and capturing malicious requests, payloads, and intrusion attempts.

  3. To implement centralized logging, real-time monitoring dashboards, and structured attack reporting mechanisms.

  4. To support the analysis of common web application vulnerabilities such as Information Disclosure and SQL Injection attacks.

  5. To design the framework with scalability and extensibility in mind, allowing future integration of additional vulnerability modules and attack simulation techniques.

  6. To evaluate the effectiveness of the framework in improving threat intelligence collection and supporting cybersecurity research activities.
