System Testing Results

Overview

System testing was performed on the complete WiseTrap system after the successful completion of unit and integration testing phases. The purpose of this phase was to evaluate the overall functionality, stability, security, and reliability of the platform as a fully integrated honeypot management system.

The testing process focused on verifying that all system requirements and functionalities operated correctly within a simulated production environment.

Objectives of System Testing

The primary objectives of system testing were:

  • Verify the complete functionality of the WiseTrap platform.
  • Ensure all modules operate correctly together as a unified system.
  • Validate system stability under normal operational conditions.
  • Evaluate security mechanisms and access control functionality.
  • Confirm correct handling of logs, monitoring data, and user interactions.
  • Detect unexpected behavior or runtime failures.

Tested System Features

The following system features were tested during the system testing phase:

FeatureTest DescriptionResult
User AuthenticationVerify secure login and logout functionalityPassed
Dashboard MonitoringValidate real-time monitoring and statistics displayPassed
Trap ManagementEnsure traps can be created and managed successfullyPassed
Logging SystemVerify attack logging and storage operationsPassed
Session ManagementValidate secure session handlingPassed
Role-Based Access ControlEnsure users access authorized sections onlyPassed
Database OperationsVerify data retrieval and storage consistencyPassed
Error HandlingValidate exception management and error reportingPassed

Testing Environment

The system testing process was performed using the following environment:

ItemDescription
Programming LanguagePHP
System ArchitectureCustom MVC Architecture
Database SystemMySQL
Web ServerApache Server
Operating SystemLinux VPS
Frontend TechnologiesHTML, CSS, JavaScript

System Test Execution

The WiseTrap platform was tested as a complete operational system within a controlled environment. Multiple testing scenarios were executed to simulate normal administrative operations and monitoring activities.

The following operations were validated successfully:

  • User authentication and secure session handling.
  • Trap creation, management, and configuration.
  • Attack logging and monitoring functionality.
  • Dashboard statistics and monitoring visualization.
  • Database synchronization and data consistency.
  • Access control and user permission validation.
  • Error detection and exception handling mechanisms.

The system maintained stable performance during all testing scenarios without encountering critical operational failures.

Observations

The system testing phase demonstrated that the WiseTrap platform operates reliably as a fully integrated cybersecurity monitoring system.

The dashboard interface remained responsive during testing, and all backend services functioned correctly without significant delays or data inconsistencies.

Minor interface adjustments and validation improvements were identified during testing and resolved successfully before final deployment.

Conclusion

The system testing results confirmed that the WiseTrap platform satisfies the intended functional and operational requirements. All major system components operated correctly within the integrated environment, providing stable performance, secure functionality, and reliable monitoring capabilities.
